Are there any alternative ordering methods?



We are happy to accept orders over the telephone.  Please call Ryan on (01282) 617557 to discuss your requirements.  Ryan will confirm that your order is in stock, guarantee you a delivery date and answer any queries that you may have.


We are also happy to accept orders via email.  Please email your requirements to  If you do decide to place your order via email, please ensure to include a name and contact telephone number.

*Please note: your order will not be placed in our order book until we have acknowledged receipt of the order by replying to your email.

*Please Note: for any orders that are placed via telephone, by email or in person, the products will be weighed and charged accordingly, unless website prices and weights or special promotions are quoted.

How do I place an order online?

Placing an order online is quick and easy.  Follow the simple instructions below and enjoy!

1. Find the items that you wish to buy

You can do this by browsing through the categories such as Beef, Lamb or Pork on the left hand side of each page.

2. Add the products to your basket

Your shopping basket is where you store all of the items that you wish to purchase.  The shopping basket is situated on the right hand side of each page.

To add an item to your basket click the "Add to Basket" button on the product description page.  You can view and purchase different weights of each product using the scroll down menu on each product description page.  If you want to buy more than one of a certain product, simply type the quantity you'd like to buy in the "QTY" box.

Each time you add a product to your Shopping basket, you will be taken to the Shopping Basket summary page.  Here you can delete products if they were added by mistake or if you have changed your mind.  You can also alter the quantity of the other products that are already in your Shopping Basket.

Please Note: if you do decide to make any amendments to you Shopping Basket, remember to press the "Update Cart" button.  If you don't update your cart, your changes will be lost.

3. Checkout

Once you have added all the products that you wish to purchase, click the "Checkout" button on the right hand side of the page.  Alternatively, press the "Proceed" button on the Shopping Basket summary page.

Step 1: Enter all of your contact details as requested.  "Proceed".

Step 2: Select a delivery method and choose a delivery date. If the date that you chose is not available, the system will automatically take you to next available delivery date.

Please Note: if the system won't let you select a delivery date that suits you, please contact us via email. If we can get your order to you on your requested delivery date, we will!

Step 3: Provide *special delivery instructions. "Proceed".

*This step is really important as it ensures that the courier will be able to deliver your order to you without any problems.

Step 4: You will now be asked to confirm your details. This page shows you what you have ordered, how much the order costs, when it will be delivered and to what address it will be delivered to. If you are happy with the details shown, click "Proceed".

Alternatively, you can click "Amend Address Details" or "Amend Delivery Options" to amend these details. 

Once you are happy that everything is in order, click "Proceed".

Step 5: You will now be redirected to the PayPal payment centre. Here you can chose to pay via your PayPal account, or via debit or credit card.

Once you have selected a payment method, follow the online instructions provided by PayPal. Once your payment has been accepted, you will be redirected back to the Nicholson's Buthers website, where we will thank you for placing your order.

What happens if you cannot supply part or all of my order?

In the unlikely event that we are unable to meet your order, we will contact you by telephone or by email as soon as possible. A full refund will be issued.

If we are unable to meet part of a small order (small selection of items), we will contact you as soon as possible.  You will be offered a substitute product to the same value.  Alternatively, you can accept a full refund.

If we are unable to meet part of a large order (large selection of items), we reserve the right to substitute that part of the order for a similar product of the same or superior quality, to the same value.
